Top tips
- Don’t obsess about her development or progress; every child is different and we’ve yet to see a bride in nappies!
- Admire everything she creates! Try to avoid saying “what’s this supposed to be?” just ask her to talk about it
- Children react very differently to being left. Try to be positive and calm, even if you’re the one who’s about to cry!
- Read to her and with her. Make reading an exciting and enjoyable joint activity, for example, encourage her to guess what might happen next; describe what she sees in the pictures.
- Keep open lines of communication with her carers, minders, nanny, au pair, and/or teacher. She will tell them everything anyway!
