Experience: Barbara is currently in her fifteenth year of Headship in her third school, The Abbey School, Reading. After 5 years as Head of Bedford High School, she moved to become Principal of Alexandra College, Dublin. The opportunity to step outside the British education system and experience another at first hand was invaluable but she returned to the UK for family reasons and appreciates the excellence of the British independent sector. Prior to becoming a Head, she was Deputy at Channing School in Highgate, Head of Geography at St Bernard’s Convent, Slough, and pastoral Head of House at Forest School, London.
