Bobby Georghiou

Qualifications: BA (Hons) English Language and English Literature, PGCE English and Drama, MEd, Liverpool, ATCL, NPQH

Experience: Following graduation Bobby Georghiou worked for three years in the state sector before moving to Bolton School Girls’ Division where she shortly became Head of English. She moved to Westholme School, Blackburn in 1996 as Deputy Headmistress and then to Bury Grammar School Girls where she has been Headmistress since 2003. She is a trained ISI inspector and Co Chair of the GSA/HMC Universities Sub Committee.

Summary

Bobby has combined her career with parenthood, for the last 18 years as a single parent. Both of her daughters have attended the GSA schools in which she has been teaching and so she regards education as very much a family affair. She says that girls are complex, fascinating but infinitely rewarding. Daughters are all of these and more!
