Experience: After a brief foray into the world of industry as a management trainee, Gillian realised her passion lay in teaching English. After 11 years in mixed comprehensive schools Gillian became Deputy Headmistress of The Godolphin and Latymer School in Hammersmith, followed by six years as Head of Francis Holland School (Clarence Gate) in North London. She took up her current headship in 2004. Gillian was President of the Girls’ Schools Association in 2010.

Summary

Gillian brings professional expertise gained over nearly 25 years of educating girls, since 1994 in girls-only schools. In addition, as the mother of two daughters now aged 18 and 21 (as well as a son of 24) she has shared the concerns of many parents about how best to respond to the challenges (and also enjoy the pleasures) of raising girls to be confident, independent, responsible and happy young women.
