Experience:

Jill started her teaching career in 1980. She has held academic and pastoral positions of responsibility in day and boarding girls’ schools in both the independent and maintained sector.

She joined Walthamstow Hall as Headmistress in September 2002 from Tonbridge Grammar School for Girls where she had been Head of English and Drama and Acting Deputy Head with particular responsibility for curriculum and staff development.

She is an ISI Inspector, serves on the GSA Membership Committee and is a Governor at Holmewood House School and The Schools at Somerhill.

Summary

Jill has spent her career as a teacher and school leader specialising in the education of girls. She feels privileged to be in her role and passionately believes in the transformational and life changing potential of education, that given the right opportunities and encouragement students can achieve amazing things. Jill heartily advocates that we never underestimate children and young people!
