Experience: Jo became Headmistress of Heathfield School, an all-girls’ full boarding school in 2009 and prior to that was Deputy Head, Pastoral. Previously Jo was a Head of House at St. Mary’s, Ascot for five years and before that taught science at St. Mary’s and Winston Churchill School, Woking. Jo has a huge enthusiasm for science and she received her degree in Applied Chemistry from Kingston University before studying for her PGCE. Jo boarded from the age of 10 which reinforces her understanding and knowledge of boarding and all-girls’ education. Jo lives on site at Heathfield with her husband and three young daughters.

Summary

Jo wholeheartedly believes in and understands the ethos of girls’ education and boarding, having worked in the sector throughout her career as well as being a product of all-girls’ boarding. At Heathfield Jo ensures the full boarding experience brings the best out in each individual girl so they can excel to their full potential, whatever their skills and passions.
