Experience: Julie became Principal at The Mount in September 2009 following four years as Deputy Head at Farlington School, West Sussex. She spent five years as Housemistress at Queenswood School, Hertfordshire during which time she gained her Certificate of Professional Practice in Boarding Management with the BSA (Boarding Schools’ Association) from the University of Roehampton. Originally Julie qualified as a Music teacher and was Head of Music at St Margaret’s Senior School, West Sussex for five years.

Summary

Julie has worked in girls’ schools throughout her career and is passionate about the extent to which girls benefit from being in a single sex environment, where they gain the self-confidence to take on the challenges of modern life and contribute to the world in whatever they do. Julie is also an advocate of boarding education where pupils have access to a wide range of opportunities as well as receiving tailored support with their academic studies enabling them to fulfil their potential in every respect.
