Wendy Griffiths

Position: Headmistress

School: Tudor Hall

Qualifications: BSc (Hons) PGCE

Experience: I started my career in a small boarding school which was my introduction to both boarding and the independent sector and I was hooked on both immediately. I moved to Tormead School, Guildford for a large proportion of my career where I held a variety of roles including Head of Sixth Form and Senior Mistress. I moved to St Catherine’s, Bramley as Director of Studies and from there to Tudor Hall in January 2004.

Summary

My drive is challenging girls to allow them to gain the confidence needed to fulfil their potential. Throughout my career I have been obsessed with the value of the extra-curriculum and in particular outdoor education for providing endless opportunities for challenge. From my first post in a boarding school, I realised that the boarding environment gives both the time and the unique environment which allows us as educators to really make a difference to the young people in our care.
