Burgess Hill School for Girls is an outstanding school which has high expectations of all its pupils and upholds the best of traditions.

Ours is a school in which girls flourish. The focus is firmly on girls and the way they learn. They develop self esteem and confidence and go on to make positive contributions in their chosen professions.

Everyone is encouraged to participate fully in the many extra-curricular activities available; great emphasis is placed on personal and social values, consideration for others, self-discipline and resourcefulness. We work in partnership with parents to ensure that the girls make the most of their talents, energy and interests to build a firm foundation for their futures.

All this is achieved in a friendly and focused environment. Our girls work hard, play hard and support each other in doing so. It is the norm to approach work with diligence and commitment – excellent attributes for a successful future.

The School motto ‘I am, I can, I ought, I will’ is taken very much to heart and the Head Girl recently wrote “Get involved is the unofficial ethos of the School”. We certainly believe that the girls’ achievements in all areas of school life give credence to our conviction that busy girls are successful girls.
