Edgbaston High School for Girls
Age range 2–18
School head Dr Ruth Weeks
EHS is a purposeful and vibrant community, providing a 21st century education based on traditional values. Each girl is valued as an individual: every facet of her abilities and talents is carefully considered and developed and she is given full encouragement from an outstandingly united and committed staff.
Our aim to provide the highest quality of education for girls at every stage of their development is achieved through an energetic and encouraging approach to the full development of each individual and by wide commitment to the strong community at the School’s heart.
EHS offers a richness of opportunity through a broad and progressive curriculum. We want girls to be so stimulated and challenged during their time here that they not only meet but exceed expectations. Those expectations combine the many successes of academic life with high personal standards of integrity, care and commitment.
EHS is noted for its strong and distinctive system of pastoral care which is an integral part of every aspect of school life, and works hand-in-hand with academic success. Girls are encouraged to develop their talents in the widest sense and much emphasis is placed on raising self esteem. The school offers an unrivalled extracurricular programme and much emphasis is placed on enthusiastic involvement in sport, music, House and other community activities.
Scholarships and Bursaries are available for entry into Year 7 and the Lower Sixth. A new Scholarship for entry into Year 3 is also now available. Our Scholarships range from 10% – 50% fee remission and Bursaries are available to cover up to 100% of the school fees (Senior School and Sixth Form only).
