Overview

Gateways School is an independent school located in a delightful rural area on a 20-acre site in Harewood village between Leeds and Harrogate and easily accessible from surrounding areas. Gateways welcomes girls from age two to 18 and from the beginning of September this year, boys are now able to continue their education at the school up to the age of 11 and by 2017 Gateways will have a completely co-educational Prep School.

We consistently achieve excellent academic results, with the school’s performance in public examinations rising year on year. The school scored highly once again this summer with 55% of all entries achieving A*-C grades at GCSE and 81% achieving A*-B grades at A level and 91% of Gateways Sixth Form leavers got in to their first choice university. Smaller class sizes allow pupils to develop academically through high quality teaching in a supportive environment.

The 2011 Good Schools Guide describes Gateways as ‘a high achieving, close-knit school in a very pleasant, secure environment with a strong awareness of the wider world and offering a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities

You will find details of many aspects of our school life on our website, www.gatewayschool.co.uk. We hope this information will encourage you to visit the school, which is the best way to experience our ethos and atmosphere.
