Type Day-Boarding

Age range 3–18

School head Mr Stephen Crump

Overview

Established in 1938, Hethersett Old Hall School is a caring and friendly independent day school for boys aged 3-11, girls aged 3-18 with flexi, weekly and full boarding available to girls from the age of 9.

We are a deliberately small, and consequently close-knit, community of approximately 200 pupils with small class sizes of on average 10 pupils. We have three departments, as outlined below, and children also belong to one of three Houses – Fry, Ryder and Austen – which further strengthen bonds across the year groups:

  • Prep: Boys and girls aged 3-11
  • Senior: Girls aged 9-16
  • Sixth Form: Girls aged 16-18

The school is located in 16 acres of beautiful English countryside and we are just 10 minutes from Norwich, 30 minutes from the coast and 2 ½ hours from London airports. We warmly welcome international students and past and current students come from throughout Asia, Africa and Europe.

Our nurturing approach and small class sizes enable pupils to fulfil their academic potential. Excellent exam results are proof that our caring and individual approach works. We are immensely proud that since 2007, 100% of our girls have gained places at their first choice universities including Oxbridge, St Andrews and London College of Fashion.
