King’s High School is an independent day school for girls aged 11 to 18. From its beginning in 1879 it has been a forward looking, friendly school which is proud of its reputation for both academic success and the personal development of its girls. The school is part of the Warwick Independent Schools Foundation, alongside Warwick School and Warwick Preparatory School.
Located in the heart of Warwick, the school has remained on the same town site for 131 years. The 18th century Landor House is complemented by modern additions such as the stunning Sixth Form Centre and classroom suite opened by Dame Judi Dench in 2006 and the new Creative Arts Centre opened in September, 2009.
The curriculum aims to give students as broad an education as possible. All students study two modern languages and Latin, and ICT is widely used across the curriculum. There is a wide choice of A level subjects.
Our winning formula of hard work and lots of fun has produced consistently good performances for King’s High which has appeared within the top 100 schools for the past five years. The school also recognises the importance of the creative arts: it has numerous music and drama groups. Debating, contemporary dance and creative textiles are some of the activities on offer outside of the curriculum, most of which take place at lunchtimes. All girls are encouraged to enjoy some form of exercise or sport and some perform at the highest levels in individual events in school and county teams.
The school organises many day, evening and residential trips to complement the curriculum. Recent visits abroad include trips to China, India, South Africa and the USA, with exchange trips to France, Germany and Spain.
