Leicester High School for Girls

At Leicester High School we are committed to the pursuit of excellence, both within the classroom and beyond. We offer a broad, academic curriculum, complemented by an extensive range of extra-curricular activities. We actively promote a strong sense of community, especially through charity fund-raising and other outreach programmes with local primary schools. Classes are small and pastoral care is outstanding. We meet regularly to celebrate success and reflect upon our shared values of tolerance and mutual respect in a multi-cultural community.

A multi-million pound extension was completed in September 2010 which has significantly enhanced the school’s facilities. With six new science laboratories, an open-plan art studio, specialised computer facilities for teaching modern languages, further form rooms and an award-winning courtyard garden, the girls have a high quality learning environment to enjoy.

Girls of all ages flourish here because they can develop their full potential and acquire those skills that will turn them into confident, articulate young women who are equal to the challenges of our modern, fast-moving world. The school’s academic record speaks for itself and is recognised by our high-ranking position in national league tables and our most recent excellent Inspection report. Our students gain places at the country’s top universities, studying a wide range of courses from business management to dentistry, from music to engineering.
