Loughborough High School is part of Loughborough Endowed Schools. Loughborough Grammar School is the brother school and the co-educational junior school is known as Fairfield. We enjoy a very old foundation, established in 1850 as one of the earliest girls’ grammar schools in England. The High School is located on a delightful 46 acre site close to the town centre with many first rate facilities, which are being added to and improved continuously.
Loughborough High School is an 11 to 18 school of approximately 600 day girls with a large sixth form numbering above 170. At the High School we aim to provide an excellent academic education in a caring atmosphere. Since we are a comparatively small school, we are able to know our pupils as individuals and this leads to a strong community spirit. In providing a strong academic education in a disciplined atmosphere we hope to enable each girl ultimately to enter the career of her choice. The school offers a wide range of cultural, recreational and sporting activities and there are clubs and societies for virtually all tastes and interest (many in the senior school are run jointly with Loughborough Grammar School). We believe that our academic curriculum and extra-curricular activities nurture our pupils and encourage them to become active citizens of a modern world.
