Manchester High School for Girls (MHSG) is one of the UK’s leading independent schools. MHSG is committed to providing the very best in education for girls aged 4 to 18 years.
Our academic record is outstanding. In 2010, 72% of all A Level examinations returned A* or A grades, with a 100% pass rate. For GCSE, 87% of examinations resulted in A* or A grades.
With an excellent reputation in both academic achievement and pastoral care, students are encouraged to get the most out of life in a caring and supportive environment.
At MHSG, artistic and sporting talents are nurtured and girls enjoy a diverse range of extra curricular activities. These are complemented by superb modern facilities which include a state-of-the-art sports complex, a fitness suite, a dance studio and a purpose-built Music House.
Highly skilled and committed staff ensure that every MHSG student leaves the School a well-educated young woman, with highly-developed interpersonal skills and a broad range of interests. Our girls are confident in their own worth, prepared for an independent life and capable of making a positive contribution to society. It is from this cornerstone that they go on to pursue varied and fulfilling careers.
In 2010, MHSG was awarded International Baccalaureate (IB) World School status, and now offers the IB Diploma alongside A Level study at Sixth Form.
