Moreton Hall
Type Day-Boarding
Age range 3–18
School head Mr Jonathan Forster
With its high academic standards and a warm family atmosphere, Moreton develops the all-round potential of every student: girls aged 3-18 and boys aged 3-11.
Accommodation is outstanding including two new Sixth Form boarding houses with en-suite bathrooms, rivalling the best university rooms. Students have ample opportunity to mix with the world outside school in a vibrant programme of lectures, expeditions, social activities with boys’ schools, curricular and leisure trips (including a new 8 week exchange programme for Year 9 girls to Australia), while our Community Service scheme encourages all students to help in the local community. Most students participate in the Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme.
Our professionally equipped Recording Studio and Radio Station, RK1, are also open to participation by every pupil, and Sixth Formers can meet the world of real business in the award-winning scheme, Moreton Enterprises, as directors and staff of the different, successful business ventures.
Specialist ICT provision, a Special Needs Unit, Mandarin Chinese and accelerated Oxford and Cambridge tuition groups are all important features in ensuring academic stimulation and success for all girls.
As well as outstanding drama and music facilities, sport is also a major focus. Lacrosse and hockey are played on the numerous grass pitches and new all-weather surface. Other sports include netball, tennis (14 courts in summer), badminton, volley ball, swimming in the school’s new indoor pool, golf on our own 9 hole golf course, soccer, cricket, sailing and horse riding at local stables. Daily transport is available across Shropshire, Cheshire and into Wales.
Scholarships and bursaries are available each year.
