Prior’s Field has always been an extraordinary and exciting place in which to learn. In March 2011, in its most recent ISI (Independent Schools Inspectorate) Report, the school was awarded the top rating – excellent – in all categories of inspection including quality of achievement, teaching, pastoral care, boarding and links with parents.
Its ethos is that pupils flourish in an innovative, warm, family environment where originality and all talents are encouraged. It’s a school where you can become a radio presenter, learn from artists-in-residence, design and race cars, make your own CD in the Music Department, have supper with the Poet Laureate one evening and be coached by an Olympic Hockey Player the next. Pupils are happy and motivated by excellent teaching. As a consequence, the school is placed in the top 1% of all schools nationally for value-added achievement at GCSE and A-level and inspectors described the progress made at GCSE as ‘exceptional’.
Prior’s Field welcomes boarders from all over the world as well as the UK and girls board on a full, weekly or flexible basis, supported by a team of live-in boarding staff. ISI Inspectors found boarders to be very happy together, feel well cared for and listened to. Provision of facilities and activities at the weekend and the quality of food were all highly praised.
Facilities generally at Prior’s Field are superb and include a magnificent science centre and library, sports hall, tennis and netball courts, outdoor heated pool, Sixth Form gym and new all-weather sports pitch.
