Queen Anne's School Caversham
Type Day/Boarding/Flexi
Age range 11–18
School head Mrs Julia Harrington
Queen Anne’s is an independent, single sex, 50:50 boarding and day school for girls aged 11 to 18 years. High academic standards are at the core of the school’s achievements, but life at Queen Anne’s involves much more. Extra-curricular activities, an active community and strong pastoral care combine to help produce happy, self-confident, well-rounded adults, who are ready to succeed in whichever field they choose.
The school has excellent facilities within a 35 acre campus in Caversham. A large sports centre has squash courts, a gym, mirrored dance studio, climbing wall and a separate indoor swimming pool. The Performing Arts Centre has a 250 seat theatre, green room and fully-equipped light and sound control room. Recent building projects include a seven-laboratory science centre and a seven-studio art & design centre.
All students belong to one of our seven boarding or day houses. Each has its own unique character, and the girls take part in many inter-house competitions and events. The girls are supported by a team of pastoral and academic staff. Full and flexi boarding is available and the school operates buses to a wide area.
Applications for entry to Queen Anne’s can be made for girls at age 11+, 13+ and for the sixth form.
