Shrewsbury High School is a high-performing school achieving consistently strong academic results year after year. Its reputation as the County’s premier girls’ day school remains as strong as ever. Academic performance, however, is only part of the story: we achieve these results by having a strong set of values that underpin our decisions and actions. For example, we believe that learning should be enjoyable, that respect is earned, that we are all individuals, and that the spirit of our community is a powerful force. This solid ground ensures our girls leave the school well equipped for the many challenges that lie ahead. As you would expect, the school has an outstanding reputation for Sports, Music and Drama and the Arts.
Our Senior School is located near the town centre, extending along the old Town Walls with gardens sweeping down the hill to the banks of the River Severn.
Our Prep School educates boys and girls from age three, to eleven for girls, and to thirteen for boys, located only a few minutes’ walk away from the Senior School. It is expected that girls in the Prep will move up to the Senior School at eleven.
