There is a friendly, openness about College which makes it a very happy place to live and learn. It has a reputation for academic excellence, for encouraging a real love of learning and for nurturing the personal development of every girl. The pastoral care is exceptional with a strong sense of community within the College and the individual houses – 6 junior houses, 4 day girl houses and 4 sixth form houses. With over 80 extra-curricular activities ranging from Duke of Edinburgh to Chess and Jazz band, the girls are encouraged to find and develop their passions. Over 900 individual music lessons take place each week and there are many choirs and orchestras running. College encourages girls to enjoy physical exercise and take up an interest which will last throughout their lives. Over 40 different sports are available including a superbly equipped sports centre and award-winning indoor swimming pool. The award-winning Parabola Arts Centre houses excellent Drama facilities and the girls put on a large number of productions each year.
Almost all girls go onto top universities both in the UK and America and they are very well supported with their choice of University and career through College’s Professional Guidance Centre which works with girls throughout their time at College providing advice and contacts particularly through former pupils. Bursaries and scholarships are available.
