‘This is a happy school, in which pupils are encouraged to become successful and confident independent young women’ – Independent Schools Inspectorate, 2010
There is certainly something special about The Maynard School. From the moment you walk through the door you can sense the warm, friendly atmosphere and witness the girls’ genuine enjoyment and enthusiasm for learning. Our expertise in educating girls and our fantastic pastoral care means that we can help each and every student to develop, building on their natural curiosity, developing a love of learning and encouraging adventurousness in the classroom, the concert platform and the sports field.
At The Maynard we are committed to maintaining our academic excellence, which we balance with our broad range or extra-curricular opportunities. We endeavour to prepare each student for life after school, ensuring that every individual reaches her full potential. In 2011 students once again achieved outstanding A-Level and GCSE results: 66% of A-Level students gained all A* or A Grades, with 90% gaining A*, A or B grades. At GCSE 81% of students gained A* or A Grades, while 95% achieved A*, A or B Grades.
Although Maynard girls work hard, they enjoy their years at school and have great fun. As well as impressive exam results, they leave the school with characteristics that are typical of a girls-only education and are recognisable both to university tutors and future employers: Their independence, their confidence without arrogance and their ability to take on every challenge that life throws at them.
