The Mount School encourages everyone to:
-Think and live adventurously
-Respect and value every individual
-Grow in a calm and caring community
-Strive for personal excellence and
-Make a difference in our changing world
The Mount is a small, friendly school where the Quaker ethos ensures that every pupil is valued as an individual with particular strengths and needs. We have a co-educational Junior School, and the girls’ only Senior School caters for day, weekly and full boarders.
Set in 16 acres of grounds, yet close to the heart of the historic city of York, The Mount provides a safe environment where children can develop their full potential. We encourage our pupils to work hard, take responsibility for their own learning and make the most of the many opportunities we offer both inside and outside the classroom. The wide ranging programme of activities and service to others is as important as the broad academic curriculum we offer.
We have excellent specialist facilities for Science, Art, Sport, Music and Drama with our latest development, a purpose built Sixth Form Study Centre, opened in 2007.
We are extremely proud of our girls’ public examination results and almost all girls go on to the university of their choice. Our pupils leave us as confident, creative and caring young people, well prepared for the next stage of their education.
