Overview

Excellent academic results are achieved in a happy, caring and supportive environment at Tormead School.

We appreciate that parents want to give their daughters the gift of a first-rate education at a school in which she will be happy and successful. We are proud of our ethos of encouraging each pupil to develop her talents to the full, and aim to instil a life-long love of learning in every girl.

Academic standards are extremely high and we value our outstanding record of examination successes and university places. However, education means much more than success in examinations. Tormead provides a broad and balanced, stimulating and forward-looking education, combining expert school-based teaching with a stimulating variety of extra-curricular activities. We aim to create an environment where the girls are happy and where the academic pace offers stimulus and challenge to all. Tormead values individuality, celebrates diversity and encourages girls to be themselves, whilst emphasising equally the value of tolerance, teamwork and collective responsibility.

Our strong support structure, underpinned by a well developed Personal, Social and Health Education Programme (PSHE), enables us to carefully monitor the progress and welfare of every girl.

We are proud of our pupils’ many achievements and of their varied contribution to the life of the wider community. We value our partnership with parents in the education of their daughters and hope that each girl will leave Tormead at ease with herself, ready to face, with confidence, the challenges of life at university and beyond.
